On January 20th and 21st, Paradise Valley FFA Members attended the 2012 Peoria FFA Mini-Leadership Camp at Peoria High School in Arizona.
This year’s theme was FFA Football: Going for the Goal. The whole camp was based around football including games and even the keynote speaker.
Upon arriving at PHS, our members participated in a Career and Fun Fair which included games and booths from a couple of colleges and companies.
After the Career and Fun Fair all of the members in attendance split up into small groups that were made up of FFA members from all over the state of Arizona. In these groups our members had the chance to interact with and meet a lot of new people. There were also a couple of workshops including one presented by former Indianapolis Colts player Shawn Harper who was also the keynote speaker for the first night and one presented by past national FFA officer Wyatt Dejong who delivered the keynote speech for the second night.
There were also physical activities including a dance, a dodgeball workshop and a Foot Rodeo which was composed of several football themed games.
Our members had a great time and are looking forward to going back next year. Thanks to the Peoria FFA Chapter and Alumni for putting on such a great event every year!
