Today, April 12, 2011 Paradise Valley FFA took a trip to the Maricopa County Fair! PV FFA members volunteered for the Arizona Farm Bureau at their "Farmer for a Day" booth. We helped children harvest corn, potatoes, oranges, eggs and milk a cow! Ok, so maybe not everything was real bit the kids had a great time!! After their shift, our members headed to the livestock portion of the fair and checked out all of the animals that were there that day. Volunteers at the "Farmer for a Day" booth!
On April 9, 2011 Paradise Valley FFA Members met to participate in our latest community service project. We went to 20th St. and Greenway Parkway in Phoenix to clean up graffiti that has accumulated there. We worked through an organization called graffiti busters to find the spot and get the paint. The only problem was... it was raining!!! But did our members let that stop us? Absolutely not! Our members set out in the rain with their rollers and paint to paint over the graffiti. After a couple of hours of painting, we had made a good dent in the amount of graffiti that was there. Thanks to all of the members who were willing to come out and paint in the rain and we hope it to do it again soon!! PV FFA Members after painting over Graffiti on Saturday, April 9, 2011
