On February 13th, 2012, Paradise Valley FFA Members attended the Black Canyon FFA District CDE Field Day in Chino Valley, AZ. We took four teams up to compete.
One of the teams competed in the Aquaculture CDE. As part of the Aquaculture CDE, team members must be able to identify different species of fish, take a written exam and perform a hands- on practicum. Our team did very well Isaiah Govea placed 2nd place individually and they received 1st place as a team.
We had an Agricultural Mechanics team compete. Joey Snavely, Sam Osterlind, Dillon Roos and Jacob Kelly participated in that CDE and while they did not win an award, they put forth a great effort.
We also had an Entomology team consisting of Victor Santana and Robbie Holland. This is a first for PV FFA as we have never had an Entomology team before and they did very well.
We also had a Nursery Landscape teams who placed second overall in the District consisting of Brenna Hyduke, Cami Muñoz, Cheyene Cortes and Trey Bachtiger with Trey placing 1st individually.
We are very proud of all of our CDE participants and we wish them the very best of luck as they move on to the state level to compete at the University of Arizona in March.
